“We cannot say how far this will take us. But can we imagine that if we technology responsibly in our own homes, schools, offices, hospitals, libraries, and communities, a major change would be under way. The worst thing we can do is to ask too little of the future- and ask too little of ourselves in determining the future” (O’Day, Nardi 57).
This quote in particular refers to the unlimited nature of technology. New innovations change the things that humans can do. As Bush points out almost immediately in her article, scientists have made discoveries that had influence man’s “…food, clothing, his shelter…increased his security…” (Bush 1). Humans have become reliant on the convenience that the technology has brought them, and this trend will continue indefinitely into the future. This affords humans ease in their everyday lives, with some technologies that are not even recognized, such as clothing.
Is this reliance a postive thing?
